RFID Safety Interlock Switch
ZCode-MZ is a coded tamperproofed safety switch for the process protection in machinery and plant engineering.
The interlock switches series ZCode-MZ are using radio frequency (RFID) and magnetic technology, both principles need to be satisfied for the switch to operate safely. This redundant diverse structure provides the highest degree of anti-tamper, virtually impossible to override. It can only be activated by the corresponding actuator.
The high-quality, different housing materials, stainless steel for ZCode-MZE as well as the highly specified plastic for ZCode-MZ allow the use in almost every environment, including the cleaning-intensive pharmaceutical and food technology.
In addition, due to its resistance to chemicals, the process interlock is suitable for cleaning and sterilization in place (CIP & SIP).
Suitable and certified for the highest safety standards according to EN ISO 13849-1, EN ISO 14119 and EN 62061.
What is an RFID magnetic interlock switch?
An RFID magnetic lock is an intelligent safety lock for protective doors and flaps on machines. It combines a powerful electromagnet, which mechanically locks the door, with RFID (radio frequency identification) technology for unique identification of the door leaf. This offers the decisive advantage that the safety device cannot be bypassed with simple tools or magnets, as the switch only responds to its individually coded counterpart.
What are the features of RFID magnetic interlock switches?
- Maximum certified safety: The components are TÜV-tested in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 (up to Cat. 4 / PL e) and EN IEC 62061 (SIL 3) and fully comply with the EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
- Extreme durability: Depending on the model, the housings offer protection classes according to IP67 or IP69K, making them dustproof and able to withstand even high-pressure cleaning.
- Maximum tamper protection: Thanks to RFID coding, the switch only recognizes the correct actuator, making it virtually impossible to bypass the protective device.
- Wear-free operation: Contactless detection guarantees an extremely long mechanical service life and reduces maintenance intervals.
- Reliable process protection: The electromagnetic interlock ensures that safety doors remain securely closed even in the event of vibrations and that processes are not interrupted unintentionally.
What are the areas of application for RFID magnetic interlock switches?
- Hygiene-sensitive areas: Ideal for the food and pharmaceutical industries, where intensive cleaning with chemical agents is carried out on a regular basis.
- Robot cells & hazardous materials storage: Anywhere where machines continue to perform dangerous follow-up movements after being switched off.
- Series production & automotive engineering: For securing extensive systems where high safety categories (PL e) are mandatory.
- Dusty industrial environments: Use in wood processing or mining, as contamination does not impair functionality.
