ZANDER AACHEN’s developed MINOS-SD series consist of the E-STOP relay SD1E which can be used for monitoring of safety-oriented sensors, for example emergency stop buttons, protective door switches or light grids and the safe coupling relay SD1K, which can be used for safe galvanically isolated contact reinforcement as well as test pulse filter for safe PLC control systems.

Besides the obvious advantage of the devices – the structural width of only 6.8 mm, which merely comply with one third of width of the standard devices presently on the market – the safety relays are attractive for their versatility.

In spite of the small structural width, the SD1E can be configured for individual applications like conventional relays. Via configuration switches, the starting behavior as well as the monitoring of safety-sensors can be configured instantly at the device.

Device variants for various configurations are avoided, which simplify enormously the application of different system types as well as the warehousing.

Besides a certified use up to PL e / SIL 3 in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 and IEC 61508/IEC 62061 the devices are used in process industry in accordance with IEC 61511, in particular through type examination for furnaces under EN 50156-1 and EN 746-2.
