Soft PLC HMI`s
What is an HMI?
An HMI is the graphical interface between humans and machines. It translates complex technical data into an understandable user interface.
HMIs are used in industry, for example, as touch panels on production lines and for controlling systems/machines directly at the control cabinet.
What are the features and functions of HMIs?
HMIs enable complex processes to be visualized, parameterized, controlled, and monitored. Various interfaces are available for this purpose, such as: PROFINET I/O Master, Modbus TCP/RTU Master/Slave, or Ethernet/IP. Now also with OPC UA protocol for your Industry 4.0 application!
The MVisio HMI is a human-machine interface that can be operated as a master/slave or as a stand-alone PLC.
- Visualization: Displays plant conditions (e.g., temperature, pressure) in real time.
- Control: Enables processes to be started, stopped, and adjusted.
- Alarming: Immediately reports errors graphically for quick responses.
- Data acquisition: Logs operating data and performance for analysis.
What are the areas of application for HMIs?
- Machine control: Operators use HMIs directly on the control cabinet to set parameters and start or stop manufacturing processes.
- Process visualization: Complex processes are displayed graphically so that the status of entire systems can be seen at a glance.
- Error diagnosis and alarms: HMIs display error messages in plain text, enabling a quick response to malfunctions.
- Data acquisition and logging: The systems record operating data and production cycles to ensure quality assurance and traceability.

What is MVisio I/O?
MVisio I/O is a multifunctional plug-in I/O module that serves as an optional expansion for the MVisio HMI series (MVisio Pro 5 and 7).
It is a compact expansion module that plugs directly into the back of the MVisio and adds physical inputs and outputs to the HMI. This makes the MVisio HMI an even more flexible solution for visualization, operation, and simple control—often in combination with an integrated PLC function
Key technical features:
- Connections and functions:
- 20 digital inputs
- 12 digital outputs
- Encoder, frequency, and counter inputs
- 8 analog inputs
- 4 analog outputs
- Pt100 and thermocouple inputs
- Power supply: 24 V DC (powered by the HMI)
- Mounting: Simple plug-in installation on the back of the MVisio HMI
- Typical applications: Combined with MVisio HMI in machines such as packaging systems, cutting machines, filling systems, gluing systems, injection molding machines, and test benches—anywhere compact visualization plus direct I/O connectivity is required, without a separate control cabinet or additional controllers.
- Advantages: Saves space and reduces cabling effort, enabling cost-effective, decentralized automation solutions with high flexibility. It supports the implementation of HMI + local I/O in a single device and transforms the MVisio 5 and 7 PRO into a multifunctional, independent HMI-PLC
