Function of the TALOS Modbus RTU interface
The TALOS Modbus variants provide a Modbus RTU interface via which the following diagnostic information can be read out from the device.
- Status of inputs and outputs
- Currently loaded configuration
- Currently parameterized delay times for the three safe outputs
- Currently displayed error numbers
In the event of an error message on the device, e.g. due to the detection of a cross-circuit, the error can also be acknowledged via the MODBUS interface depending on the type of error (see operating manual).
Each TALOS variant is also available in the Modbus RTU version.
The Modbus version enables diagnostic information to be transmitted from the TALOS via the fieldbus. For this purpose, the device does not have to be configured and can be connected directly to the fieldbus.
The connection to the fieldbus enables automatic monitoring of the controller and its switching states, for example for documentation as well as centralized diagnostics.
The existing functionalities of the TALOS remain unchanged: Diagnostics via the built-in display is also still possible without restriction with the Modbus variant.
